HazMat-1 responded to a fire in an Electric Bike store containing dozens of electric bikes and scooters as well as hundreds of spare and used lithium-ion batteries. Due to the extremely large quantity of batteries, it was beyond the scope of HazMat-1 to mitigate the hazard. An external contractor had to be called in to remediate the situation. Oddly enough, 24hrs later the business caught fire again, possibly from the cleanup contractor not removing all damaged lithium batteries.
