11/6/21 (Brooklyn) Vehicle fire with Acetylene tank involved B

HazMat-1 Responded to a report of a pickup truck fire that also involved an Acetylene tank.  The truck was being used by a welding company and transporting a 100lb Oxygen cylinder and a 100lb Acetylene cylinder. It’s unclear what exactly started the fire, but the Oxygen cylinder ended up exploding, launching into the air, never to be seen again. The only thing left from the Oxygen cylinder was the sheared-off valve stem and valve cap. Still laying in the bed of the destroyed truck was the acetylene tank leaking from the valve stem threads. The leaking cylinder was placed inside a drum filled with water until all products had been evacuated.  Once empty, the Acetylene cylinder was properly disposed of.
